Many more bits will have to be encoded in the initial position of the incoming puffer, to make construction recipes for several "meteor shower seeds".

We have to make meteor shower seeds anyway, to clean up the faraway startup junk from the puffer and GPSEs. But in this case we need slightly longer recipes; instead of just being cleanly destroyed, each area of junk will be converted into a synchronized seed for the gliders that were originally present.

A final one-time splitter will send precisely timed gliders out to each of those faraway seeds, as described here:

https://conwaylife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=63861#p63861

-- and after a long long time you'll have the exact same pattern back again. Could be a volatility-1 oscillator, a Ludicrously Slow Spaceship, etc.Dave Greenehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13093546924554276281noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8285929.post-83149129246587671922020-01-03T01:15:23.562-05:002020-01-03T01:15:23.562-05:00Does this technically mean that you can make it co...Does this technically mean that you can make it construct itself?PkmnQhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06664650692100637470noreply@blogger.com
